CCI Conflict Minerals Policy Statement | |
Communications Components Inc. (CCI) supports the efforts to end the violence and human rights abuses associated with the mining of conflict minerals. “Conflict minerals” include tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold; also referred to as “3TG.”
In the manufacturing process, CCI strives to have a “conflict free” supply chain, including committing to supply chain initiatives and overall corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts that work towards a conflict free supply chain. CCI supports preventing the use of conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or surrounding countries. Our conflict minerals compliance process includes having our manufacturing suppliers provide written evidence concerning the use of any conflict minerals in CCI manufactured products. Our manufacturing suppliers complete a reasonable EICC/GeSI Conflict Minerals Reporting Template pursuant to which we obtain information about any conflict minerals used to manufacture our products. The inquiry requests the origin of any conflict minerals and identification of the smelters used in the processing of the minerals, and seeks to determine whether the mining or processing of these minerals directly or indirectly benefitted any armed groups in the DRC or surrounding countries.”
CCI does not source minerals directly from smelters. We rely on our manufacturing suppliers’ responses for sourcing information regarding conflict minerals. The goal of the reporting template is to ensure that only “conflict free” materials – conflict minerals not benefitting any armed group or human rights violator in the DNC or surrounding countries – are used in our manufactured products.
If CCI becomes aware of a supplier whose supply chain includes metals from a conflict source, CCI will take the appropriate actions to remedy the situation in a timely manner, including reassessment of supplier relationships, to achieve that objective. CCI expects our suppliers to take similar measures with their suppliers to ensure compliance throughout the supply chain.
